Conversions Project

Famous Bridges

Click here for a virtual tour of Famous Bridges
Enter all of your answers here.

In class we cover conversions. I could have the students make their own virtual tours. In the tour the students would create questions that incorporate conversions about the places they picked for their virtual tours.

Solving Equations Podcast

Homework Help!
Listen to the above podcast to hear the steps for solving equations.

In class I could have students with writing disabilities create podcast for answer that need written responses. Instead of having a teacher write out their answers for them, students could respond on their own using a Web2.0 tool such as aviary.com

In general students could also use podcasts to explain problems they solved that do not require written work, but do require students to process information, such as classifying polygons and 3-D figures. The students could verbally explain why they used the names that they did to name the polygons or figures on a quiz.

"The Great" Mr. Gleason

Famous Mathematician Project
Students will have the opportunity to research a famous mathematician. After the research, students will have to make a presentation and turn their presentation in via a Web 2.0 tool like 280 slides

Pythagorean Theorem WebQuest

Pythagorean Theorem
Please use this WebQuest to learn more about Pythagoras and his theorem.

This year you will all create your own WebQuest. You will work in groups and go back to a topic of your choice and develop a WebQuest of your own that teaches other students the idea. This project increases your knowledge by requiring you to think about what all is important in order to teach the idea.

Visual Study Guide

Graphic Organizer

In order to create an easy study guide for the OAA test this spring, each student will create a graphic organizer. Students can use bubbl.us to create a graphic organizer, like the example above, of any lesson we cover this year. In March I will compile all of the organizers for an easy to use study guide.

Help me go GREEN!
Please fill out one of these online questionnaires.
Students click here. Parents click here.
Instead of passing out papers that just get put in some filing cabinet, this year I will be using a form made with Google Docs. When you click on the link you will fill out an online form. Click submit and your responses will be put in a nice little spread sheet for me.
